Part Time Evening High School Equivalency Instructor

Applications Are Being Accepted For The Position Of Part Time Evening High School Equivalency Instructor For Our Main St. Campus (1601 W. Main Street, Mesa AZ 85201). We Have 2 Current Openings

• Monday & Wednesday 5:30-9:00 Plus an additional 3 hours a week online (10 hours/week total)
• Tuesday & Thursday 5:30 - 9 Plus an additional 3 hours a week online (10 hours/week total)

Under general supervision, the High School Equivalency (HSE) Instructor will perform a variety of routine duties, as needed, to teach students from different backgrounds, ethnicity, nationalities, gender, ages, religions, or disabilities in the classroom and in the lab, using a variety of teaching methods such as lectures and demonstrations and using audiovisual and technological aids to supplement the presentations. The focus of instruction is to prepare students to pass the GED exams.

Part Time Non-Exempt

$33.00/ Hour - This is a Grant Based Position

• Bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited university in Education or related field
• Experience teaching adult learners, secondary education students, or remedial academic instruction.
• Knowledge of HSE/GED curriculum and adult learning principles.
• Ability to effectively teach students with diverse educational backgrounds.

• Valid Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card through Arizona Department of Public Safety.
• Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.

• Prior Adult Education or HSE/GED instructional experience.
• Experience working with at-risk or nontraditional learners.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Experience with instructional technology and online learning platforms such as Canvas and Focus.
