Position: Project Engineer -Salt Lake City, UT

Overview

We are a 100% employee-owned, family-run heavy civil construction company that self-performs underground utility installation, earthwork, and concrete work. We are growing and seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Engineer to support project operations from pre-construction through closeout.

Job Details

Job Title: Project Engineer

Location: Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, UT

Pay: Competitive salary + full benefits package (Based on experience)

Responsibilities
  • Contract Administration
    • Route contracts for internal and external signatures
    • Organize and file fully executed contracts in project job files
  • Bonds
    • Procure payment and performance bonds as required by project specifications
  • Plans Management
    • Distribute updated plan sets to superintendents and subcontractors
    • Ensure accurate plan versions are used in the field
  • Document Control & Submittals
    • Prepare submittal transmittal packages and maintain logs
    • Track returned/approved submittals and keep organized records
  • Subcontracts & Purchase Orders
    • Assist in reviewing subcontractor and supplier quotes for scope and quantity accuracy
    • Maintain updated contact lists for internal teams, subcontractors, and owners
  • Field Coordination
    • Conduct jobsite visits to verify subcontractor quantities and monitor progress
    • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in ensuring timely project delivery
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with construction software is a plus
  • Self-motivated and eager to grow within a team-focused culture
