New Hire Experience

1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten-year maximum

New Hire Education

1% of the base hourly rate awarded for an AA or higher degree if not required for the position

Job Summary

To convey job specification to printers and binders; to track status of jobs; to respond to customer questions; and to maintain print job archives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process print jobs, create job files and maintain production record database
  • Handle heavy incoming and outgoing telephone traffic
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding job pricing, specifications, status, etc.
  • Record, monitor and verify revenues, expenditures and budgets of various district funds
  • Cash manage various district funds to include data entry audit and reporting
  • Process and monitor accounts receivable
  • Prepare bid invitations for outside vendor printing projects
  • Typeset text files
  • Assist in bindery and pre-press tasks
  • Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
  • Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
Required Qualifications
  • High School education or equivalent
Skills & Competencies

  • Moderate proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; excellent test battery; high math aptitude
  • Excellent vocabulary, grammar and spelling skills with accurate attention to detail
  • Mac Intosh proficiency to include use of Word and Excel required
  • Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment
  • Ability to organize, to prioritize and to meet deadlines while working with frequent interruptions and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with district personnel and outside agencies
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Located in a centralized print shop within the school district’s facilities or at the district office
  • Fast-paced, production-oriented setting involving frequent deadlines and multitasking
  • May work independently or as part of a small team; regular communication with teachers, administrators, and other staff to fulfill print requests
  • Extended periods of standing and walking, often throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting and moving of paper stock, boxes, and printed materials—usually up to 50 lbs.
