As our Global Financial Assistant Accountant, you'll be part of the Financial Control team working closely with brilliant people across the business and reporting into Senior GTF Project Execution Lead. You'll be right at the heart of fast-moving projects that shape how we show up for our consumers - today and tomorrow.
WHERE YOU CONTRIBUTEThe Global Financial Assistant Accountant provides essential support to global accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial data and compliance with group and statutory reporting requirements. This role assists with month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and audit preparation, while contributing to process improvements and efficiency initiatives across the Global Transactional Finance (GTF) function.
COREACCOUNTABILITIES
- Month-end support:
Prepare and post journals; assist with accruals, prepayments, and provisions; complete balance sheet reconciliations. - General ledger management:
Maintain group ledgers in compliance with group and local statutory requirements. - Audit and compliance:
Prepare schedules and reports for external audits; support local statutory audits; ensure adherence to Group Accounting Policies and internal controls. - Systems and process improvement:
Support Finance UAT for system changes; identify opportunities to streamline processes and eliminate non-value-added tasks. - Collaboration and support:
Work closely with finance teams globally; provide cover and contribute to ad hoc projects; proactively flag risks and issues to the Global Financial Accounting Manager.
- Studying towards a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in a similar finance role, ideally within a global or multi-site environment.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, ledger integrity, journal postings and reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to identify discrepancies, manage risks and elevate issues appropriately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables); experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP systems desirable.
- Proactive, collaborative and adaptable team player who drives process improvements and performs effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
