(delivery in community venues across Coventry).
0.2 FTE (7.4 hours per week): 5 hours of in‑class support on 2 evenings (Monday & Tuesday) 6 pm–8.30 pm; remaining hours for onsite curriculum, administrative and record‑keeping duties.
OverviewAs a Learning Support Assistant you will support adult learners with disability, learning difficulties or pre‑literate needs to fully access learning in ESOL classes. Working under the direction of a tutor you will collaborate with small groups or individuals to enable learners to progress, acquire relevant language, and begin reading and writing. Outside of class you will complete administrative and planning tasks, copy resources, contact absent learners, and maintain and evidence Individual Learning Plans.

Responsibilities- Provide 2 evenings a week (Mon & Tue) 6 pm–8.30 pm in‑class support to ESOL learners.
- Assist individual or small‑group learners with learning needs, including pre‑literates.
- Prepare and copy teaching resources.
- Contact learners who miss classes and record attendance.
- Maintain and evidence Individual Learning Plans.
- Participate in planning, teaching and learning activity recording.
- Support assessment of learner progress and outcomes.
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
- Experience working with adult learners, especially those with pre‑literacy or learning difficulties.
- Knowledge of ESOL adult learners and common barriers to learning.
- Positive attitude to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Flexibility and adaptability to varied community venue settings.
- Willingness to undergo DBS check and comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
- Ability to pass the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) check.
Interview weeks: 6th and 13th April. A Guaranteed Interview Scheme is available for specific groups, including members of the Armed Forces and veterans, care leavers, disabled individuals and those with long‑term health conditions.
