Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Specialty Doctor to work in our Acute Medicine Team. This is a permanent placement with an attached study leave budget. The post holder will work closely with the consultant body and support the junior team in the Acute Medical Unit and the Same Day Emergency Care Unit. The successful candidate will develop knowledge and skills in a busy department with a high turnover of patients and will take part in teaching programmes.
There is also the opportunity to gain experience in specialist clinics such as TIA, headache and 1st fit clinics. The post-holder will participate in the General Medicine on-call rota commensurate with experience.
The post comprises a 10-session job plan (9 sessions of direct clinical care including admin time and 1 session of Supporting Professional Activity) with an on-call General Medicine SpR rota. The base work programme will be confirmed and may include additional sessions. Duties include ward work, clinics, referrals within the specialty, and on-call duties within General Medicine at registrar level. The Acute Medicine department has a strong clinical teaching ethos in both postgraduate and undergraduate education to which the post holder is expected to contribute.
Requirementsand Qualifications
- Experience working in the NHS
- 4 years full-time post-graduate experience or equivalent
- Qualifications (as applicable)
- Evidence of Audit or Quality Improvement (QIP)
- Desirable:
Welsh Language Skills (Level 3 and above / B2)
