Building Blocks Facades is redefining architecture through cutting-edge Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC), Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC), and glass façade systems. Our work bridges the gap between architectural concept and full execution—delivering iconic, bespoke façades for landmark projects across the U.S. and internationally. We merge advanced material science with digital design and fabrication to push the boundaries of possibility in architectural facades.
The Quality Control Technician ensures that all products manufactured at the Merritt Island facility meet Building Blocks’ rigorous standards for precision, durability, and aesthetic excellence. This role is responsible for inspecting materials, monitoring production processes, documenting quality results, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The QC Technician plays a critical part in ensuring that every component leaving the plant reflects the craftsmanship and performance expected of Building Blocks’ façade systems.
This role requires interpretation of shop drawings and fabrication tickets for steel framing, welding, and fiber‑reinforced mortar/concrete elements, ensuring adherence and compliance of the engineered cementitious composite elements according to design.
- Perform and document Quality Control inspections of incoming material, Glass‑fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC) and Ultra‑High Performance Concrete (UHPC), and glass façade components at various stages of the manufacturing process following both the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) and Building Blocks’ Quality Control Manual.
- Collect and verify samples from steel framing and mortar/concrete casting to test for dimensional check, welding quality, surface quality, and material properties of cementitious materials such as compressive strength and flexural strength in the way of Limit of Proportionality (LOP) and Modulus of Rupture (MOR).
- Document inspection results, nonconformances, and corrective actions using company systems.
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality issues, prevent recurrence, and provide and receive peer‑review guidance and training.
- Assist in maintaining and updating quality control documentation, checklists, and standards.
- Support testing activities, including material sampling, strength testing, and performance evaluations.
- Monitor curing, finishing, and assembly processes to ensure adherence to quality requirements.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
- Support audits, customer inspections, and project‑specific quality requirements as needed.
