Shift: D Shift Friday to Sunday, 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM (Additional shifts available)
As part of the structures team, you will be involved in precise drilling and assembly using both manual and power feed drills and specialized large‑scale structural assembly. Your expertise will include working with both metallic and composite materials, performing detailed processes like drilling, deburring, and assembling large components. Additionally, you will be responsible for surface preparation, fixturing components, and the alignment of structural parts, ensuring they meet stringent specifications.
Your role will involve maintaining fabrication methods and specification requirements to maintain high‑quality construction using various materials and techniques.
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, structures, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience drilling precision, close‑tolerance holes
- Experience inspecting holes for diameter, roundness, straightness, and tolerance compliance using precision measuring tools
- Familiarity with manual drills, power feed drills, and/or Quackenbush drills
- Experience installing aerospace structural fasteners (bolts, rivets, Hi‑Loks, lockbolts, blind fasteners, etc.)
- Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience using precision calibrated tools including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, and optical measuring instruments
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and comfortable working at heights, including climbing ladders and operating scissor lifts or boom lifts
- Experience with surface preparation, deburring, fixturing, and structural alignment
- Proficiency in digital tools, including Windows and Microsoft Office applications
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee
- Industry certification, trade school training, and/or degree in a related field
- Knowledge of precision assembly processes for large aerospace components
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail in complex integration tasks
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in a team environment
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on safety, quality, and efficiency
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
- Willingness to work overtime
- Drill precision holes to tight tolerances in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Inspect drilled holes to verify tolerance, size, and quality requirements
- Install structural fasteners per aerospace standards and torque specifications
- Operate manual drills, power feed drills, and Quackenbush drilling equipment
- Configure production work areas with required tooling, fixturing, and equipment
- Safely perform work at heights using ladders, work stands, scissor lifts, and boom lifts
- Operate material handling equipment and precision calibrated tools as required
- Perform surface preparation, sealing, painting, composite layup, minor repairs, and testing
- Assist with payload, hardware, and vehicle assembly and installation
- Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S principles
- Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission
