This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance, covering Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of professionals, specialists, and engineers, you will develop strategic procurement solutions and complete day-to-day tactical purchasing functions for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of supply chain operations and drive organizational and policy change to enhance Blue Origin’s bottom line.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, prioritize, and execute program requirements in alignment with Blue Origin’s needs.
  • Develop category plans, evaluate supply bases, and perform business-case development with risk and opportunity identification.
  • Mentor, coach, and engage Blue Origin Supply Chain buyers and subcontracts administrators; foster communication with program functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Blue Origin Supply Chain standards, especially for machine parts, requirements, and program integration.
  • Lead and participate in drafting Requests for Proposals, conduct cost analyses to support proposals, and develop negotiation strategies; lead formal negotiations.
  • Manage a team placing subcontracts/purchase orders of varying complexity in compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Develop contracting strategies for major procurement activities, including continuous improvement initiatives and opportunities for efficiency gains.
  • Support the procurement organization’s strategic direction and ensure delivery of production materials on time, within budget, and meeting technical performance requirements.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; maintain a focus on quality and safety in human spaceflight.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years of experience in Business Administration/Management, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with subcontracting of machine parts research and development, spec requirements, build-to-print, and COTS commodities.
  • Significant understanding of US Government and non-US Government/Commercial acquisitions.
  • Experienced knowledge/compliance with ITAR and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS).
  • Experience with various contract types (Firm-Fixed Price, Time & Material, Cost Plus).
  • Experience in assessing proposal compliance (FAR 15.4) and supporting CPSR events.
  • Maintain compliant and accurate files/Data records; strong analytical skills with ability to establish and track program metrics.
  • Ability to interpret and apply company policies, procedures, work instructions, and government regulations (FAR, DFAR, SOX).
  • Experience creating and maintaining systems to streamline operations and ensure timely project completion.
  • Working understanding of AS9100 standards; knowledge of engineering data, specifications, and data rights.
  • Basic budgeting/expense management understanding.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach; ability to engage with and influence leadership teams.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and prioritize workload; capability to define scalable processes in ambiguous environments.
  • Adept at working with different systems and recommending improvements.
Desired
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Current active DoD Secret security clearance and/or Special Access.
