This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It provides Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
We are looking for world‑class manufacturing engineers who apply standard engineering methods to design, develop, and implement new or revised manufacturing and production processes for the efficient and economical production of aerospace products. You will help transform the way rockets are made and operated. Key Responsibilities- Translate engineering intent and drawings into fully functional hardware ready for test, qualification, and flight by crafting manufacturing bill of materials and work instructions.
- Identify tools and equipment required for manufacturing flight hardware.
- Provide shipside/lineside support on the manufacturing floor.
- Generate, manage, and close non‑conformance reports (NCRs).
- Support the introduction of new products by crafting manufacturing plan artifacts including build plans, duration estimates, index plans, and tool lists.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for safety and efficiency, enhancing overall productivity.
- Drive the transition from development to production, proactively performing troubleshooting and maintenance as needed.
The Manufacturing Engineer at Blue Origin plays a pivotal role in advancing the efficiency and reliability of aerospace components through cutting‑edge assembly methods. As part of a large, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will manufacture and assemble hardware on our premier launch vehicle, New Glenn. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience in aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures, automotive manufacturing, or similar (0‑3 years for Level I Engineer, 3+ years for Level II Engineer, 5+ years for Level III Engineer, 8+ years for Senior Level Engineer).
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including knowledge of GD&T.
- Strong written, verbal, technical, and software skills (CAD, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Hands‑on experience building flight hardware.
- Experience with design, development, or production of launch vehicle, spacecraft, or satellites.
- Proficiency with CAD software (Creo or CATIA V5).
- Customer‑focused with a proven track record of working cooperatively with teams of different skills across large geographic distances.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
