Supplier Quality Specialist III - Blue Origin

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance across all Blue Origin facilities. The position is onsite daily at the Alabama or Florida location; candidates must reside in or relocate to a Blue Origin site location and work onsite unless at a supplier.
As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will develop and implement supplier quality processes for the design, test, and manufacture of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and related technologies for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of Supplier Quality Management processes.
Responsibilities- Evaluate suitability and stability of current and potential suppliers regarding quality and technical capability.
- Lead suppliers through resolving discrepancies, including corrective and preventive actions as well as recovery plans.
- Support program reviews with key suppliers to ensure understanding of long‑term business objectives.
- Communicate supplier performance to senior management.
- Issue supplier corrective action requests and review responses for root cause and repeat defect containment actions.
- Participate in supplier pre‑ship reviews, quality audits, hardware acceptance and corrective actions.
- Focus on nonconformance reduction activities.
- 5+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing field with at least 2 years in a supplier quality engineering or specialist role.
- Required travel up to 50% of the time and a valid driver’s license.
- Quality assurance experience in an aerospace production environment.
- Self‑initiation and excellent time‑management dedication.
- Proficiency in staying closely connected to your leadership structure and operational customers while working remotely.
- Passion for Blue Origin’s mission and vision.
- Technical background and experience with one or more of the following aerospace commodities: avionics, electronics, machined parts, composites, assembly practices, valves and fluid controls, castings and forgings, tooling or chemical processing.
- Experience transitioning a product from development, through production to operations.
- Proven experience with AS9100 auditing.
- American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification.
- Six Sigma Green, Black Belt or comparable certification.
