Structural Analysis Engineer III – New Glenn Upper Stage
Join Blue Origin as a Structural Analysis Engineer III on the New Glenn Upper Stage program. Blue Origin envisions millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. The role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single‑configuration, heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle.

ResponsibilitiesPerform analysis on primary and secondary tank structures using classic hand calculations and Finite Element Model (FEM) simulations to support design, manufacturing and operations. Provide analysis documentation, peer review analysis reports, and offer guidance to design engineers and junior analysts. Support production issues, ongoing testing and mission operations during transition to production and operational phases.
Minimum Qualifications- B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 5+ years of structural analysis experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle structures or automotive.
- Demonstrated knowledge of vehicle load path and stress analysis of metallic and/or composite structures.
- Familiarity with classical aerospace sizing methods (Bruhn, Niu, Roark, etc.).
- Knowledge of engineering materials and their applications to achieve optimal structures.
- Experience with at least two of the following analysis codes:
Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS‑Dyna, Opti Struct, NASGRO. - Demonstrated experience using scripting languages (VBA, Matlab, Python, FORTRAN, etc.).
- MS degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in large‑scale structural test and instrumentation.
- Proficiency with ANSYS Mechanical.
- Knowledge of linear‑elastic fracture mechanics fundamentals.
- Experience using MATLAB.
