Android Developer, Full Stack Developer
This role is for a Dev Sec Ops Engineer on a contract basis in Merrimack, New Hampshire, offering $67 - 68 per hour. Requires 6+ years in Android app development, expertise in Jetpack Compose, CI/CD tools, and a strong understanding of mobile architectures.
Responsibilities- Collaborating with architecture, security, and UXD to build architecturally compliant apps
- Collaborate with platform squads to define mobile engineering standards, protocols, and tooling
- Providing mobile thought leadership to advance mobile outcomes and facilitate a mobile‑first approach
- Serve as Mobile advocate for the adoption of experiences that tackle the needs of our digitally minded customers
- Lead a team of Android developers participating in architectural and design high‑value creation, code reviews, pull requests, and pair programming
- Mentor and coach other Android developers
- Participate in the release of at least one publicly available app to the Google Play Store from inception to launch using automated tooling such as Jenkins, Dev Ops, and the Android toolchain
- 6+ years of professional experience developing publicly available Android apps using Android Kotlin
- Strong experience with Jetpack Compose and Android Studio/Jetbrains
- Fluency in Android object‑oriented and/or functional programming from industry working experience
- Experience leading a team of Android developers, architectural and design decisions, code reviews, pull requests, and pair programming
- Passion for creating amazing experiences using Google’s Human Interface Guidelines and knowledge of functional programming and reactive patterns
- Desire to delight clients with the latest mobile technologies, using deep knowledge of MVVM mobile architecture
- Knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies used in creating performant, resilient, and robust mobile apps
- Excellent understanding of consuming RESTful web services
- Experience in modern development principles such as trunk‑based development, feature toggles, and branch by abstraction to support performant engineering teams
- Comfortable with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Dev Ops, and Artifactory
- Experience with testing concepts and frameworks using industry‑standard tools (e.g., Compose, Maestro, etc.) with a focus on Dev Sec Ops
- Strong understanding of Google’s accessibility features and experience building accessible experiences
- Good understanding of dependency management
- Experience with Splunk/Data Dog and Firebase Crashlytics
