Infectious Disease Associates & Travel Medicine physicians provide Infectious Disease services for inpatients at four local hospitals. Follow-up care is seamlessly transitioned to the outpatient setting in our Merrimack office after the hospital stay. The office also offers Infectious Disease outpatient consultation to assist in managing a variety of infectious diseases, from common infections to more complicated disease states. Our providers are dedicated to protecting patients who enjoy international travel, and who may be exposed to diseases that are rare in the United States.
Our specialty physicians and advanced practice providers will provide health information specific to the destinations you will visit, along with any appropriate vaccinations.
Medical Assistant responsible for participating in the provision of professional nursing care to patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses, Providers, and Practice Manager.
What You’ll Do- Participate in the care of patients in person, via telephone (phone screening) and telehealth modalities under the supervision of the Provider(s).
- Perform functions delegated by Provider(s) and Registered Nurses, including administering prescribed medications, treatments & immunizations, point-of-care testing, and collection /handling of specimens, within the appropriate scope of practice.
- Collects and screens history and health-related information from patients and communicates findings to the Provider(s).
- Communicates Provider advice/instructions and plan of care to patients.
- Documents care activities in the medical record including procedures, interventions, patient/family communication, and test results with accuracy and detail.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience of 3 years as an MA.
- Certifications:
Current BLS/CPR training. - One year experience in a medical practice or healthcare setting preferred.
