Derivatives Analyst

Overview

The Role As a member of this team, you will be reporting to the Derivatives Manager, will support the operational activities for the various products managed by the team. You will use your industry expertise and collaborate with your team to complete trade confirmation, complete the lifecycle events associated with trades, execute margin calls, transfer collateral, research and resolve variances and be the first point of contact for business partners.

Additionally, you will provide support for tactical, strategic, and regulatory projects for our growing derivatives capabilities!

• Support operational activities for the derivatives products managed by the team.
• Complete trade confirmation and lifecycle events associated with trades.
• Execute daily margin calls and transfer collateral; analyze, research, and resolve margin call and collateral variances with broker-dealers and custodian banks.
• Provide reporting to key internal and external business partners.
• Act as the first point of contact for business partners and escalate high-risk items to minimize loss.
• Assist in the development and review of departmental policies and procedures.
• Test and automate processes and workflows in a constantly evolving environment.

• Four-year college degree in business or finance
• 1-3 years of financial services work experience preferred
• Collateral management and/or middle office experience
• Multi-tasker with effective interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail in following procedures & controls to ensure accurate and timely work
• Ability to work in a small, tight-knit team daily to share responsibilities
• Ability to recognize and escalate high-risk items to minimize loss
• Innovation to come up with operational improvements
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word/Excel) and ability to train on and work with different operating systems
• Experience completing trade confirmations and executing lifecycle events for derivatives trading

We are the Derivatives team that is a business unit within Global Middle Office. We work with Fidelity's trading desks, global custodians, broker-dealers, and various internal and external business partners to support derivatives trade confirmation, lifecycle events, and collateral management for Fidelity managed funds. Core processing and services include legal trade confirmation, periodic payments, exchange traded futures collateral, centrally cleared collateral, OTC collateral, MSFTA collateral, settlements, reconciliation, and on-boarding of new products, funds, and broker-dealers.

Fidelity Funds & Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products.

Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
