Responsibilities- Account for FMR LLC and subsidiaries’ corporate investments, including recording, reconciling, analyzing, and reporting investment balances and transactions.
- Ensure accurate and complete daily recording of all investment activity into the investment accounting systems for posting to the general ledger.
- Collaborate with Corporate Accounting, Fund Accounting, and Treasury, and contribute to system improvements—upgrading Invest One, implementing a new investment accounting platform, and enhancing reporting capabilities.
- Assist with recurring and ad hoc requests, financial reporting, and participate in projects and process efficiency initiatives.
- Actively participate in the daily recording and processing for FMR LLC Investment Portfolio activity.
- Support the accounting team in preparation for quarterly financial statement preparation.
- Implement and enhance processes to improve reporting quality and reduce manual work.
- Conduct investment accounting research and provide management with clear analysis, recommendations, and conclusions.
- Respond to inquiries from various Corporate Accounting teams, outside business units, internal auditors, and controllership.
- Participate in special projects and fulfill ad hoc requests and deliverables as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.
- Motivated to obtain SIE license, if not already licensed.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience; insurance and/or investment accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and internal controls.
- Familiarity with alternative investments and digital assets preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain constructive relationships with business partners.
- Solid understanding of finance and accounting principles, with a strong sense of accountability and ownership.
- Detail‑oriented while maintaining a broad perspective on business objectives.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines.
- Capacity to grasp complex organizational and ownership structures.
- Highly motivated, flexible, and quality‑focused team player with strong organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn financial systems and multi‑dimensional reporting tools.
- Highly proficient in Excel.
- Demonstrated process improvement mindset.
- Flexibility to work extended hours during month‑end close.

As a member of the Investment COE Team, this role is exposed to a broad range of investment accounting topics and will directly impact the annual and quarterly financial statements for the consolidated company, FMR LLC. The position provides the opportunity to work closely with members of various teams across Corporate Accounting as well as Treasury.
