Cars Towing and Transportation is looking for an experienced Mechanic to work in our Merrillville, Indiana location

• Thoroughly examine the vehicle damages
• Running diagnostic tests on diesel engines and interpreting the results to offer suitable solutions
• Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering and exhausts
• Maintaining record of parts inventory and serviced vehicles
• Analyzing diagnostic test results
• Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Enhances maintenance department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies

• Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system, and the mechanisms of a diesel engine
• Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
• Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
• Welding experience necessary
• Heavy Truck diesel and fabrication experience necessary
• Attention to detail
• Teamwork/Interpersonal skills
• Communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• A valid driver's license
• Must be able to past a drug test
