Deli Clerk responsible for preparing and serving deli items including slicing meats/cheeses, frying and baking, making sandwiches/salads, stocking and merchandising, taking orders, and maintaining food safety and sanitation. Role involves operating deli equipment (meat slicer, scales, fryers, ovens), assisting customers with product suggestions and special orders, and rotating/inspecting inventory for freshness. Requires customer-service orientation, ability to follow directions, basic food handling certification in some locations, and routine cleaning duties.

Summary: As a Deli associate, some of your duties will include slicing deli meats and cheeses to order, frying and baking chicken and other products, preparing sandwiches, salads, entrees and more. You will provide product suggestions and assist customers with special orders while you provide our customers with outstanding customer service. You will stock cases and ensure that our customers have a variety of high-quality deli items to choose from.

You will ensure complete compliance with food safety and sanitation requirements throughout your daily work. You will clean and sanitize dishes, food preparation areas, and equipment. In some areas, you may be required to obtain a food handler's certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Deli Clerk activities:

* Operate stove/oven/fryer

Other activities:

* Take orders

* Build displays

* Package items for sale

* Change fryer oil

Knowledge Requirements: A positive customer service attitude & pleasant personality, effective memory skills, excellent hand eye coordination, dependability, ability to follow directions & a strong willingness to learn.
