Full‑Time Clinical Therapist – Merrillville

SAFY is seeking a full‑time Clinical Therapist for our Merrillville divisions. As a Clinical Therapist you will be responsible for providing moderately complex clinical services for youth in SAFY of Indiana Empowering Families Program – Services provided within the home and community utilizing evidence‑based practices and family system theories to help families reach their full potential. • Provide a range of intensive clinical services to children and families including assessment, treatment planning, safety planning, crisis intervention, individual and family therapy, and discharge planning.
• Administer psychometric assessments and tools as needed.
• Utilize evidence‑based interventions and trauma‑informed approaches.
• Build relationships using a strengths‑based approach.
• Assist clients with recovery from mental illness, substance abuse, sexual assault, trauma, and other conditions.
• Provide clinical services for clients in a range of programs at our Indiana divisions, including Empowering Families, Treatment Foster Care, and Kinship Support.
• Coordinate behavioral modification interventions for children and adolescents with externalizing behavioral problems at risk of being removed from the home.
• Target family dysfunction related to domestic violence, exposure to violence, abuse, neglect, substance abuse, criminal behavior, and other related issues.
• Provide crisis intervention, support, and safety planning when needed.
• Collaborate with DCS, schools, providers, and community partners to strengthen the continuity of mental health care and services.
• Complete all required paperwork and case documentation in a timely manner as required by DCS and SAFY.
• Comply with all expectations and requirements of respective licensing board.
• Attend supervision, team meetings and other required SAFY trainings.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation to ensure safety needs of the family are addressed 24/7.
• Our Family Preservation Services utilize evidence‑based practices—Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Family Systems Therapy to aid families on charting a new course to improve their family functioning, safety, and well‑being. We provide families with the necessary tools to develop and maintain a strong family structure for the long‑term physical and emotional health of each member.

• Targeted hiring range: $48,000.00 – $70,000.00, Compensation is commensurate with transferable experience, education and licensure of candidate, location of position, along with internal equity and budgeted amount for the role.
