Parts Counterperson – Full Time with Saturdays required

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
  • Communicate with customers on parts status
  • Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up
  • Review body shop estimates to be sure the parts that are ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate
  • Receive and process payment from retail customers or obtaining credit authorization
  • Pull and fill orders from stock
  • Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up parts
  • Maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock
  • Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from outside source and submit an emergency order, if necessary
  • Make sure all authorized requests for parts are billed on service repair order
  • Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
  • Answer phone calls; provide price quotes and other information
  • Provide high level service to internal and external customers
  • Ensure all warranty parts are returned and tagged according to the manufacturer's guidelines
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience with auto parts sales preferred
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Must have a clean driving record and hold a valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing and able to submit to a Background Check and Drug Screen
