Accounting Manager​/Supervisor

Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee financial operations and ensure accuracy in all accounting processes. This position involves managing daily accounting tasks, supervising staff, and preparing reports to support organizational goals. Located in Merrillville, Indiana, this role provides an opportunity to lead and optimize financial workflows while contributing to the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.

- Review and perform reconciliations to maintain the integrity of financial data.

- Handle general ledger coding and ensure proper documentation for all entries.

- Supervise and mentor one accounting clerk to enhance team productivity and performance.

- Conduct collections to address outstanding payments and maintain cash flow.

- Utilize advanced Excel functions, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables, for data analysis and reporting.

- Collaborate on month-end preparation tasks, ensuring timely and accurate financial closures.

- Prepare journal entries and maintain detailed records to support financial audits.

- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and accounting standards.

Salary range for this role is 60K-75K with medical, dental and vision insurance and paid time off.

Requirements - Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger management and coding.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation and maintaining accurate financial records.

- Ability to efficiently prepare and post journal entries.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.

- Experience in supervising or mentoring accounting staff.

- Familiarity with collections processes and maintaining cash flow.

- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex financial data.
