Shipping Clerk

Job Summary

1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Occasional overtime may be required.

• Aids in bindery production by running small machinery and staging materials.
• Performs packing, loading pockets, and other bindery tasks that cannot be done by machine.
• Assists the shipping department when needed.
• Reads and understands job tickets to determine production requirements.
• Records time to be charged to the customer for each individual job.
• Drills paper, prepares paper, and stacks product before and after bindery processing.
• Performs accurate hand collating, keeps product organized, shrink‑wraps product, and hand‑glues.
• Gather mail, coiling plastic, and other related tasks.
• Assists bindery operators to set up specific bindery machinery according to job tickets.
• Monitors job quality and alerts operators when machine adjustments are needed.
• Receives products off the machines and packages them for shipping or further processing.
• Maintains general upkeep of small bindery machinery and a neat, clean, organized work area.
• Performs any additional duties assigned by management.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to read and calculate measurements.
• Shipping experience is required.

This position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull in an 8‑10 hour day: up to 10‑30 lb frequently, 30‑50 lb occasionally, and 50‑70 lb infrequently; maneuver in tight spaces; handle small tools; and operate mechanical lifting devices.

Mostly in the finishing area where the noise level is low to moderate. May be exposed to chemicals, heated surfaces, and sharp or moving machine parts.
