General Purpose

The Area Supervisor is a member of the Store Leadership team responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store and for general operations and supervision when functioning as the Manager on Duty. Responsibilities include opening and closing the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining a friendly and efficient shopping environment, ensuring proper merchandise presentation, and executing company operational processes as needed.

Essential Functions
  • Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments – Practice safe behaviors, maintain awareness on the sales floor, correct unsafe conditions, secure building entrances, manage EAS devices, control cash office security, and test fire alarm systems.
  • Customer Service – Treat all customers and Associates with respect, demonstrate courtesy and professionalism, and recognize Associates through company programs.
  • Personal and Store Brand – Represent the company brand, maintain professional appearance, keep all areas clean and merchandised to standard, and perform daily trash removal.
  • General Merchandising – Ensure recovery, sizing and markdowns are completed to company standards, receive merchandise trucks, process all merchandise with urgency, keep stockrooms organized, and manage floor moves and promotions.
  • Loss Prevention – Maintain loss prevention awareness, safeguard confidential information, conduct “Code 50” package inspections, and execute company best practices.
  • Front End Supervision and Operations – Maximize productivity, manage front end pace and presence, train Associates on cash procedures, control breaks, maintain equipment, and ensure proper go‑back processing.
  • Fitting Rooms – Maintain cleanliness, audit garment tags, ensure go‑back compliance, and ticket and security tag all merchandise returned to the sales floor.
  • Administrative Duties – Conduct cash pulls, bank deposits, front end control, payroll administration, and other duties assigned by the Store Manager.

Qualifications
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations used in retail.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Physical Requirements
  • Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
  • Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
  • Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
  • Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
  • Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
