Overview

This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice.

It involves delegating, directing, and assisting licensed and ancillary team members; ensuring quality patient outcomes; showing cultural sensitivity; supporting unit and department goals; and maintaining professional responsibility and accountability for the nurse's own practice.

Required - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred - Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Required - None.

Required - Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Preferred - Certification in clinical specialty area.

• Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Supports customer satisfaction and employee morale and strives for improvement in the profession of nursing.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including privacy, introduction methods, explanations, permissions, and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.
