Patient Dining Associate; Dietary Aide

Overview

We are hiring immediately for full time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) positions.

Location:

Ochsner Rush Medical Center - 1314 19th Avenue, Meridian, MS 39301.

Schedule:

Full time schedule. Days and hours may vary. More details upon interview.

Pay Range: $13.00 per hour to $15.00 per hour.

• Help patients understand their menu selections and work with nursing to ensure their orders comply with nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic or religious preferences; or when a patient inquires about additional selections.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal and state requirements and HIPAA policies and procedures; adhere to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down the patient tray line.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians as needed, including monitoring patients on liquid diets or with specific calorie counts.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to appropriate personnel in a timely manner, following department procedures.
• Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds, and maneuver and push food delivery carts.
