Personal Care Assistant (PCA) – PRN / As-Needed

Vital Medical Staffing is looking for dependable and compassionate Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our PRN team. This role is a great fit for someone who truly cares about helping others, communicates well, and can step in when patients and facilities need extra support.

We work with a variety of healthcare settings, and many of our needs come from last‑minute call‑outs or unexpected coverage gaps. Being reliable and flexible is a big part of this role, and it makes a real difference for the people receiving care.

Vital Medical Staffing connects healthcare facilities with dependable, qualified medical professionals to help cover shifts that are hard to fill—especially last‑minute, PRN, and short‑term needs. Our team works closely with hospitals, long‑term care facilities, behavioral health centers, hospice, and clinics to make sure patients continue to receive safe, compassionate care.

Vital Medical Staffing focuses on licensed and non‑licensed healthcare professionals, including RNs, LPNs, CNAs, PCAs, caregivers, and allied health staff. Every clinician we work with is carefully screened, credentialed, and supported so facilities can feel confident in who’s walking through their doors.

What you’re doing
  • Assisting patients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Following care plans and facility guidelines
  • Communicating clearly with facility staff and our staffing team
  • Picking up PRN and last‑minute shifts when available
What you’ll need to have
  • A valid TB skin test
  • A valid CPR/BLS certification from an in‑person instructor (online‑only courses are not accepted)
  • Ability and willingness to pick up last‑minute and as‑needed shifts
  • Dependable transportation and good communication skills
  • A caring, respectful attitude and strong work ethic
  • At least one year of professional PCA experience
