Overview

Diesel Pickup Technician
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Gem State Diesel is seeking a detail-oriented, quality-focused, experienced Diesel Pickup Technician to join our team. Our specialties are Ford, GMC/Chevrolet and Dodge/Ram pickups only. This is a full-time position in a clean, modern shop with state-of-the-art equipment and a strong team culture built on honesty, integrity, and craftsmanship.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of diesel technician experience (diesel pickups preferred)
  • Current driver’s license with a clean 3-year driving history
  • ASE and/or factory certifications
  • Strong experience in drivability diagnostics
  • Comfortable using computers and tablets for diagnostic procedures and inspections
  • Proven reputation for honesty, integrity, and professionalism
  • Own tools appropriate for the position
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair:
    • Air conditioning and heating systems
    • Drivability and electrical concerns
    • Brake, drivetrain, and suspension systems
    • Engines and associated components
  • Perform thorough vehicle inspections, including digital vehicle inspections, with clear photos and detailed notes
  • Clearly communicate technical diesel diagnoses and repair needs with teammates as required
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and attend training as needed
