Salary Range: $111,194 - $132,887/year DOE with a comprehensive benefits package.

Purpose

The Administrator of Security and Behavior is a member of the Academic Leadership team, providing district-wide leadership to ensure safe, secure, and behaviorally supportive learning and working environments across all West Ada School District facilities. The position oversees and directs district and school-level security, safety and behavior systems, ensuring alignment with best practices in school safety, Positive Behavior Supports (PBS), emergency management, and student support.

This role partners closely with school administrators, Operations teams, and law enforcement agencies to proactively prevent incidents and effectively respond to crises.

Supervision Received and Exercised

Work is performed under the supervision of the Chief Academic Officer of Student Success. The Administrator leads and supervises designated security, safety and behavior staff and provides district wide guidance and support to school administrators. The role collaborates closely with families, Operations teams, and external agencies, including law enforcement, to ensure consistent, proactive, and compliant security and behavior practices across the district.

Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Safety and Security Leadership
  • Provide leadership for district wide school safety and security programs, including building security, access control, surveillance systems, and emergency communications.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of safety and security standards across all district facilities.
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability assessments and oversee corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Operations teams (Facilities, Maintenance, Transportation, and Technology) to ensure safe, secure, and well-maintained school environments.
Crisis Response and Incident Management
  • Serve as the district lead for crisis response, emergency preparedness, and incident management.
  • Oversee development, implementation, and evaluation of district and school emergency operations plans.
  • Ensure alignment with the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS).
  • Provide training and support to administrators and staff related to emergency response procedures.
  • Lead or support district-level response to critical incidents and coordinate with local, state, and federal emergency responders.
  • Facilitate after-action reviews and continuous improvement following incidents.
Behavior Systems and Positive Behavior Supports
  • Lead the development and implementation of district wide behavior systems grounded in Positive Behavior Supports (PBS).
  • Ensure classrooms and schools are safe, inclusive, and behaviorally supportive of academic learning.
  • Collaborate with school leaders to integrate PBS within MTSS and instructional practices.
  • Analyze behavior, discipline, and safety data to guide prevention and intervention strategies.
  • Support professional learning related to behavior management, de-escalation, and trauma-informed practices.
Program Management and Collaboration
  • Provide guidance and support to building administrators in implementing safety and behavior systems.
  • Coordinate staffing, deployment, and training of safety and behavior personnel.
  • Partner with Student Services, Operations, and other district departments to align efforts and resources.
  • Serve as liaison to law enforcement, emergency management, and community partners.
