The Opportunity:Certified Medical Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Medical Assistant, you will support healthcare providers by performing both clinical and administrative duties to ensure the smooth operation of our independent practice.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties:
- Patient Preparation: Greet and prepare patients for examination or procedures, including taking vital signs, recording medical history, and explaining procedures.
- Assisting Providers: Assist physicians and other healthcare professionals during examinations and minor surgical procedures.
- Specimen Handling: Collect and process laboratory specimens, including urine, and performing diagnostic tests on the specimen.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers, following established protocols.
- Wound Care: Provide wound care, including cleaning, dressing, and monitoring for signs of infection.
- Sterilization, Disinfection and Cleaning: Disinfect scopes/probes and sterilize tools/instruments used for procedures.
- Marketing/Networking: It is a basic expectation that every member of our team is a brand ambassador; our collective commitment to excellence is what truly drives the success of The Urology Clinic.
Administrative Duties:
- Patient Scheduling: Schedule patient appointments, follow-up visits, and diagnostic tests, while managing and coordinating schedules for healthcare providers.
- Medical Records: Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including updating electronic health records (EHR) and ensuring all documentation is complete and up-to-date.
- Insurance and Billing: Assist with insurance verification, billing processes, and coding for medical procedures.
- Office Management: Perform general office tasks, such as answering phones, greeting patients, and handling correspondence.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong drive for excellence in client services.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a medical or surgical clinic setting.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a compassionate and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems;
eClinical
Works (eCW) experience is highly preferred. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
