Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Mammography Technologist with at least 3 years of experience and current ARRT and BLS certifications for an acute care contract assignment.
Responsibilities- Work in an acute care Breast care Services department specializing in both screening and diagnostic mammography
- Screening examinations use Hologic equipment; diagnostic procedures include use of Hologic machines and a prone biopsy table with Bravera biopsy device
- Average daily volume is 14 diagnostic scans, and 21-25 screening scans in a 10-hour shift
- Shifts are 10 hours, days and evenings, with variable schedules such as , , or
- No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements
- Uses Epic for EMR and Change PACS system
- Will perform standard screening, diagnostic breast scans, and occasionally assist with procedures
- Will not float between screening and diagnostic areas
- Lead technologist available but may not be onsite at all times
- Radiologists perform batch reads and report results later
- Must wear clean, professional scrubs in any color
- 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation are provided in addition to general orientation
- Not open to local candidates; 50-mile radius rule applies
- No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted
- Permanent employees must be separated for one year before applying for a travel assignment
- ARRT certification in Mammography and current BLS required
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in mammography and at least 1 completed contract required
- Experience with both screening and diagnostic mammography, including special needs and implant patients
- Proficiency with Hologic equipment and Epic EMR preferred
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- License required if applicable
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one supervisor or peer from the past 3 years
