Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist with ARRT and BLS certification to join an acute care breast imaging team utilizing Hologic equipment and Epic EMR.
Responsibilities- Position in Breast care Services providing both screening and diagnostic mammography
- Acute care setting with no floating between screening and diagnostic duties
- Screening shifts available: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, or 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Diagnostic shifts are 8 hours, varying from 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
- Screening caseload averages 18–21 exams per 8-hour shift and up to 25 in a 10-hour shift; diagnostic averages 14 exams per day with 30-minute intervals per scan
- Equipment includes Hologic digital mammography units and Hologic prone biopsy table with Bravera device
- Epic EMR and Change PACS are utilized
- No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
- Performs screening and diagnostic mammograms, including imaging for implant patients, patients with special needs, and breast biopsy procedures
- Shift attire requires clean, professional scrubs in any color
- Department lead available during shifts though may not always be onsite
- Orientation includes 2–3 unit-specific shifts in addition to general onboarding
- Permanent employees must have a one-year separation before applying as a traveler
- No blocked scheduling or special requests for scheduling will be accepted
- Minimum 3–4 years' mammography experience required
- Completion of at least one to two prior contracts
- ARRT (Mammography) and BLS certification required
- Proficiency with Hologic mammography and biopsy equipment required
- Experience with Epic EMR is preferred
- Driver’s license and required state license verification; license required if applicable and must be active at time of consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years
- No local candidates; must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
