Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist
  • Valid ARRT, or RCIS/RCES certification in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • Valid Radiologic Technologist license in compliance with state regulations
  • PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC certification
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
  • Prepare and position patients for interventional procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
  • Operate fluoroscopic, CT, and ultrasound imaging equipment to guide procedures
  • Assist physicians by scrubbing in, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
  • Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self
  • Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures
  • Manage and restock procedural supplies, including catheters, guide wires, and contrast agents
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members for seamless patient care
  • Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
  • Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
  • Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
  • Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication in English
  • Able to comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficient in PC use
  • Physical endurance to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lb), push, pull, and bend
  • Professional attitude and ability to work effectively with diverse personnel
  • Fine manipulation, motor control, and readiness to assist procedures and equipment
  • Mental resilience under pressure and ability to work with irregular activity schedules
  • Good visual acuity and other sensory skills required for the role
