Transportation Structures CAD Technician – Horrocks

Location:

Compensation: $33.00 – $37.00 per hour

Horrocks values integrity, community, and talented people. As a Transportation Structures CAD Technician, you will create electronic design plans using computer software and work closely with engineers to turn blueprints and technical drawings into 2D/3D computer models.

Core Responsibilities
  • Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
  • Drafting and design work for a variety of projects across multiple disciplines
  • Work in structural detailing, bridge plans, drainage structures, retaining walls, and other transportation structures related items
  • Develop three‑dimensional models of transportation structures using 2D technical drawings
  • Create/modify technical drawings of roads, bridges, pipelines, etc.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure that the drawings are correct and represent the design accurately
  • Compile and maintain complete plans sets of technical drawings
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies
  • 0–6 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Microstation InRoads and/or Open Roads preferred
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil 3D
  • Manage project data files from various sources
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings; think 3‑dimensionally
  • Work independently with ability to accomplish multiple tasks, competitive priorities
  • Professional, creative, team‑focused individual who works well with others
  • Enthusiastic, dedicated, self‑disciplined in a fast‑paced environment
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent technical degree
