Supervisor of Behavior Supports
West Ada School District is launching a new team structure within the Security and Behavior division and is hiring a Supervisor of Behavior Supports. This new role will report to the Administrator of Security and Behavior and will focus on strengthening proactive, school-based systems that prevent and address student behavior challenges.

PurposeThe Supervisor of Behavior Support provides district wide leadership for systems of behavioral support and intervention designed to address student behavior dysregulation and improve student access to learning across the West Ada School District. This position collaborates closely with academic and student support departments to strengthen proactive, preventative, and responsive behavior supports aligned to district goals. This role emphasizes early intervention, capacity building, and coordinated supports rather than disciplinary action.

Work is performed under the supervision of the Administrator of Security and Behavior. The Supervisor of Behavior Support oversees the Flyer's Behavior Center, Therapeutic Learning Centers, and all district behavior interventions, ensuring alignment between general education and special education systems. The position serves as a district resource for administrators, teachers, and support staff and is a member of the Student Success Academic Leadership Team.
EssentialDuties Districtwide Behavior Support Systems
- Provide leadership and oversight for all district behavior support and intervention systems focused on student regulation and engagement.
- Lead implementation and continuous improvement of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) across schools.
- Ensure behavior support systems align with district goals, academic priorities, and student success outcomes.
Behavior Support Centers and Interventions
- Oversee the Flyer's Behavior Center, Therapeutic Learning Centers, and all district behavior intervention programs.
- Establish consistent expectations, procedures, and fidelity measures across behavior support programs.
- Monitor program effectiveness and outcomes to ensure interventions meet student needs.
- Collaborate with site administrators and support staff to ensure effective transitions into and out of behavior support programs.
- Work directly and collaboratively with the Special Education Department to align behavior supports across general education and special education systems.
- Ensure behavior interventions are coordinated with IEPs, Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and required procedural safeguards.
- Support consistent implementation of behavior supports for students receiving special education services across school settings and programs.
- Provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams to ensure behavior interventions support access to instruction while meeting student-specific needs.
- Collaborate with academic departments, Student Services, Counseling, Mental Health, and related supports to align behavior interventions.
- Support coordinated behavior support within Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) frameworks.
- Serve as a liaison between instructional and support departments to ensure cohesive, district-aligned behavior support practices.
- Provide consultation and coaching to school administrators and teams regarding behavior support strategies and intervention planning.
- Guide teams in developing and implementing targeted and intensive behavior interventions for students experiencing behavior dysregulation.
- Support teams serving students with special needs and diverse student populations by addressing varied behavioral needs through effective, research-based interventions.
- Design, implement, and evaluate professional development focused on PBIS, behavior intervention strategies, de‑escalation, and student regulation.
- Support staff learning related to proactive behavior supports and consistent intervention practices.
- Build capacity across schools and behavior support programs to implement interventions with fidelity.
- Work collaboratively with the Legal Department to ensure behavior support practices comply with state and federal law, Board policy, and procedural requirements.
- Consult with legal counsel regarding complex behavior support cases involving special education, placement, or student rights.
- Partner with the Communications Department to support clear, accurate, and consistent messaging related to behavior support programs and processes.
