Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care (PCU)
Location: 435 Lewis Avenue-Midstate Med (10123)
Shift Detail: Two 12‑hour shifts per week (19:00‑07:00), every 3rd weekend and holiday.

. Our Progressive Care Unit is a 20‑bed unit with all private rooms, specializing in complex medical and surgical patients who are too complex for a regular floor but not require ICU. The team includes RNs, nurse assistants, administrative staff, attending physicians, and mid‑level providers 24/7.
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the registered nurse utilizes evidence‑based practices, complies with the State Nurse Practice Act, and applies hospital policies and medical staff directives. The RN uses the nursing process to develop a plan of care that addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol.
- Monitor patient status and report changes to the healthcare team.
- Coordinate interprofessional care and patient education.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Records.
- Participate in clinical quality improvement and safety initiatives.
- ASN or BSN degree.
- Current RN license in the state of Connecticut.
- New graduates may be eligible to work under supervision, subject to state guidelines.
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
