Surgical Technologist (CST) – OR General Surgery (PERD DIEM)

Location: 435 Lewis Avenue – Midstate Med (10123)

Shift: No call/weekend/holiday requirements

Job description: Provide service and support before, during, and after surgical procedures. Ensure proper arrangement of equipment and supplies, assist the surgeon as allowed, and help clean the operating room afterward. Report to the Manager.

• Completion of a surgical technician program.
• Certified through National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assistant (NBSTSA) or able to obtain certification within one year.
• Maintain CPR, BLS validation and attend annual Validation Day.
• Knowledge of various surgical procedures and ability to anticipate surgeon needs.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment, excellent communication skills, and strict adherence to sterile field policies.
• Basic patient safety knowledge and application of aseptic principles.
• Knowledge of OR emergency situations.
