• Read and write English, interact with general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one‑to‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds ylim.

The Service Clerk reports to the Store Manager/Senior Assistant Manager and is responsible for maintaining carts, assisting customers with purchases and vehicle loading, checking prices on products, returning merchandise to store shelves, and maintaining parking lot and store cleanliness.

• Collect and organize shopping carts within the store and retrieve carts from the parking lot and surrounding areas.
• Assist customers with loading merchandise into shopping carts and into their vehicles.
• Check retail prices on the shelf for check‑stand personnel.
• Pull merchandise from the check‑stand (“go backs”) and return it to the proper shelf; walk aisles and place misplaced items in their correct location.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness of the store entrance: sweep front area inside and outside, pick up trash, mop outside walkways, and clean entrance/exit doors daily.
• Monitor overall store cleanliness: sweep, mop, and keep restrooms restocked as needed.
