Cook – Food Preparation
Salary Range: $22.07/hr – $28.00/hr
Closing Date: 6/30/2026
Remote/Hybrid Eligibility: Remote or hybrid, depending on openings. Temporary employment.

Service – SX
- Prepare and cook all food dishes to a standard of excellent taste, quality, and appearance.
- Follow recipes, menu cycles, and batch cooking guidelines to create entrees, starches, vegetables, gravies, sauces, soups, breads, desserts, and other dishes.
- Prepare breakfast menus, lunch menus, and dinner menus, including hamburgers, grill frankfurters, salads, and desserts.
- Handle meat, fish, and poultry by roasting, broiling, steaming, baking, stewing, or deep pot frying.
- Multi‑task pre‑ and post‑production responsibilities and ensure timely service and presentation standards.
- Guide kitchen support staff, including training and leading one or more Assistant Cooks and Food Service Workers.
- Prepare menus for catered events or special meals.
- Maintain sanitation and safety standards in the campus kitchen.
- Perform safety, sanitation, and sustainability practices, including proper use of PPE, cleaning equipment, and waste management.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent certification/training.
- Experience: Three years of experience in food preparation and general kitchen work, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Food Handler Certification: Preferred.
- Skills and Knowledge: Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills; culinary techniques in a high‑volume industrial environment; ability to taste, discern, and adjust recipes; knowledge of diverse cuisines and special dietary requirements; proficiency in HACCP and sanitation guidelines; strong problem‑solving and leadership abilities.
