What you will be doing

As a Sanitation Worker, you will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, machinery, and production areas to meet FDA, USDA, and company standards. You’ll work closely with the production team to ensure clean and safe environment that supports the production of high‑quality products.

The position will be based in Merced, CA,. The starting hourly rateis $18.72. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.

Main responsibilities

Ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, HACCP, and GMP sanitation standards.

Clean and sanitize equipment, production lines, and facility areas according to established schedules and protocols.

Follow all sanitation procedures and use approved cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.

Disassemble and reassemble production equipment for thorough cleaning.

Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met and maintained.

Maintain accurate logs and documentation of sanitation activities for audits and internal reviews.

Assist in managing the inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management of restocking needs.

Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.

Participate in sanitation training programs to stay updated on best practices and regulations.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations to protect employees and products.

What we are searching for

Prior experience in sanitation within a food production facility, preferably in pasta or salsa manufacturing.

Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, HACCP, and GMP standards.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to collaborate with Quality Assurance and Production teams effectively.

Knowledge of proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

Commitment to health, safety, and compliance in all sanitation practices.
