CA Staff Pharmacist FT – CVS Health
Job Purpose and SummaryAt CVS Health, we transform health care by improving access and lowering costs. In our Retail locations, Staff Pharmacists play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence, acting as role models, and ensuring safe, effective service for every patient.
Key Responsibilities- Help manage and improve patient health through safe, appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Take direction from the Pharmacy Manager, overseeing the pharmacy as proxy during bench shifts, coaching staff, and providing feedback.
- Assume Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when the primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment with pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
- Provide empathetic patient experiences, resolve insurance andpera issues, and demonstrate compassionate care.
- Proactively offer immunizations and support the pharmacy team in learning to immunize.
- Manage inventory best practices, protecting cold chain products.
- Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations and raise issues as required.
- Adapt flexibly to business needs, assist with scheduling, and foster an inclusive team dynamic.
- Maintain advanced clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continuing medical education.
- Provide pharmacist delivered clinical care (e.g., Covid/Flu testing, hormonal contraception) where permitted.
- Understand and comply with all federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS Health policies.
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- Regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training on time.
- Attention and focus to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly.
- Customer service orientation: help people in a friendly manner, notice patient reactions.
- Excellent communication: verbal, written, active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning: solve problems involving dosing and quantity.
- Issue resolution: choose best course of action in challenging interactions.
- Physical demands: mobility, lifting, reaching, manual dexterity, visual acuity.
- Perform any additional tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
- 1–2 years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service.
- Willingness to work in other locations across the market as needed.

Pay Range: $65.00 – $81.00 per hour
