About The EmployerThe Merced County Office of Education assists Merced County’s 20 school districts through support and oversight of curriculum and instruction, alternative education, business services, early education, technology, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE is led by the elected Merced County Superintendent of Schools and governed by the Merced County Board of Education. While serving as a focal point to facilitate local school/government/community partnerships, MCOE is responsible for the fiscal oversight of each school district in Merced County, hears appeals for student expulsion hearings and interdistrict transfers and operates Green Meadows Outdoor School.
Job SummaryUnder the director's direction, the occupational therapist provides occupational therapy and rehabilitation services, including assessment, development of treatment goals and plans, and direct intervention to assist students between ages 3 and 22 in acquiring functional and independent life skills.
Responsibilities- Provide occupational therapy and rehabilitation services as part of special education programs.
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment goals and plans, and deliver direct intervention to students ages 3–22.
- Assist students in acquiring functional and independent life skills.

- 3 current Letters of Recommendation (SIGNED & DATED within the last 18 months)
- Unofficial College Transcripts showing Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- Occupational Therapist Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board, Inc. & Occupational Therapist Licensed with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Experience providing occupational therapy services to children with moderate to severe disabilities, including pediatric and sensory-motor training
Upon hire, must present official transcripts, original certificate/license, H-6 DMV printout, CA driver license, and proof of insurance liability.
