Position SummaryThis part‑time instructional assignment allows the professor to teach mathematics courses across all levels, from fundamentals through transfer‑level courses. The maximum teaching load is 10 units per semester, and teaching may include evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with established course outlines and expectations.
- Inform students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies.
- Maintain required student attendance and academic records.
- Prepare and grade class assignments and examinations.
- Post and maintain regular office hours following prevailing policy.
- Participate in curriculum development and review.
- Develop and refine teaching‑learning methods and materials.
- Engage in departmental, area, and campus professional activities and committees.
- Contribute to the college’s learning outcomes assessment program.
- Complete tasks related to student records, including timely grade submission to admissions and records.
- Master’s degree in mathematics or applied mathematics, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics or related field AND Master’s degree in statistics, physics, or mathematics education, OR
- Equivalent academic preparation.
- Demonstrated commitment to DEIA and anti‑racist principles, fostering a respectful, inclusive, and equitable learning environment.
- Teaching experience in mathematics.
- Current technology skills related to instructional delivery and a willingness to adopt new technologies.
Eligible doctoral candidates may be considered for additional compensation, subject to available funding and departmental needs.
