General Description

This is a part‑time instructional assignment under the general direction of the Dean of Business and Economics. The instructor will teach courses such as keyboarding, office applications, computer applications, office practices, business communication, and virtual office classes. The maximum teaching load is 10 units per semester and may include evening and weekend hours.

Duties
  • Provide innovative and effective instruction in accordance with current pedagogy and course outlines.
  • Inform students of course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies and maintain regular contact.
  • Maintain and submit required attendance and scholarly records on the Learning Management System.
  • Utilize the LMS to deliver, prepare, and grade assignments and examinations.
  • Maintain effective skills in instructional design, applications, and methods.
  • Post and keep regular office hours per policy.
  • Participate in curriculum development and review.
  • Develop teaching methods and materials.
  • Participate in departmental, area, and campus professional activities and committees.
  • Represent the college in the Merced community and in professional circles.
  • Participate in the college’s learning outcomes assessment program, including course, program, and institutional assessments.
Qualifications Required
  • Professional experience with a Master’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Business Technology, Business Technology Management, Business Information Technology, Office Administration, Applied Management, Information Technology, or Office Administration from an accredited institution and two years of experience in the field.
  • Associate’s degree in any of the above and six years of experience.
  • Commitment to culturally affirming DEIA and anti‑racist principles and respect for diversity.
Preferred
  • Current technology skills related to teaching in the discipline and willingness to pursue future technological developments.
