Location: Merced College, CA

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative faculty member to join the School of STEM in the Computer Technology & Information Systems (CTIS) program. The candidate will contribute to a dynamic team of 39 faculty members committed to academic excellence and supporting the mission of the institution.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Delivering a comprehensive curriculum, encompassing both online and in‑person instruction, and managing a standard teaching load of 15 units per semester, which may include evening and weekend hours.
  • Providing innovative and effective instruction in accordance with current pedagogy and established course outlines.
  • Informing students about course requirements, evaluation procedures, and attendance policies, and maintaining substantive contact with them.
  • Maintaining and submitting required student attendance and scholastic records on the Learning Management System.
  • Utilizing the LMS to deliver, prepare, and grade class assignments and examinations.
  • Participating in the development and review of curriculum and teaching‑learning materials.
  • Post­ing regular office hours in accordance with prevailing policy.
  • Engaging in departmental, area, and campus professional activities, including committees.
  • Representing the college within the Merced community and professional circles.
  • Assisting in the college’s learning outcomes assessment program, including course, program, and institutional assessments.
  • Supporting community outreach to employers and related events.

Typical qualifications include:

  • Master’s degree with professional experience, OR Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of directly related professional experience in teaching, OR Associate’s degree with six (6) years of directly related experience.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience teaching courses in Computer Technology & Information Systems.
  • Current technology skills related to teaching in the discipline and a willingness to pursue future technological developments.
  • Knowledge and experience in networking.
  • Ability and willingness to teach all levels of experience.
