Hiring Range
Compensation for this position is $76,000 - $91,600 annually. The salary offer is based on final candidate qualifications and experience and is typically near the lower‑mid range for a role of this scope.

About the Job

The Associate Director (AD) of Residence Education for Resident Engagement & CARE Response oversees the collaborative management of Living Learning Communities (LLCs), the Residence Hall Association (RHA), and CARE (students of concern) report processing. The AD leads a team of up to four live‑on coordinators, fostering inclusive residential communities and promoting academic and personal growth. This is a full‑time, live‑off position with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities and an on‑call rotation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and implementing administrative processes that enhance residential student engagement and success.
  • Build and maintain relationships with campus partners inside and outside the Division of Student Affairs.
  • Represent the Residence Education department in campus‑wide and system‑wide meetings.
  • Support co‑curricular engagement tasks: room scheduling, program supply purchasing, outreach tours, and other administrative duties.
  • Manage co-curricular activities including residence hall tutoring, publications, recruitment and outreach events, and student educational travel experiences.
  • Provide financial, CARE, and ad‑hoc reports to the Director of Residence Education and Executive Director of Campus Life.
  • Handle communication with residents, partners, vendors, and external sources via email, social media, and other channels.
  • Manage CARE report processing and ensure timely, equitable response and support services.
  • Promote a CARE philosophy centered in equity, restorative practices, safety, and community wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with key partners:
    Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Services, Campus Advocacy, Basic Needs, Dean of Students, and others.
  • Consult on high‑impact or high‑risk cases with the Director and staff.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in the university student conduct/CARE systems.
  • Participate in crisis and campus emergency response.
  • Serve on an on‑call rotation for live‑on coordinators and severe on‑site incidents.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate approximately four full‑time professional live‑on staff and support residential community success.
  • Set expectations, monitor progress, and provide feedback and accountability to direct and indirect report staff.
  • Teach CARE support and response processes to department staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities.
  • Support policy development, staff selection, program design, and implementation of LLCs and academic success initiatives.
  • Coordinate updates, meetings, and shared processes among Housing Services, Residence Education, and LL coordinator faculty advisers.
  • Liaise with offices:
    Undergraduate Admissions, Bright Success Center, Center for Career Advancement, School of Natural Sciences, Social Justice Initiative Office, and Undergraduate Education.
  • Manage Residential Curriculum updates, review practices, align programming with university priorities, and assess effectiveness.
  • Recruit and advise residential student leaders in the RHA and associated programs.
  • Manage a significant programming and student engagement budget administered by RHA student leadership.
  • Collaborate with RHA leaders to address student concerns and improve campus quality of life.
  • Advise individuals and groups on university policies and student‑initiated programs.
