Merced College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable faculty member to join our Agriculture & Industrial Technology division as an Animal Science instructor with a focus on both animal science and meat science. This position will play a key role in delivering high-quality, hands‑on instruction that prepares students for careers in livestock production, meat processing, animal health, and related agricultural industries.

The ideal candidate will bring strong content expertise, a commitment to student success, and a passion for engaging both traditional and nontraditional learners in applied, real‑world environments.

This faculty member will have access to Merced College's newly developed Ag Innovation Center, which includes a state‑of‑the‑art meat processing lab designed for product development, processing demonstrations, and workforce training aligned with industry standards. Instruction will be enhanced through the use of the college's instructional farm and livestock facilities, providing students with immersive experiences in animal handling, production practices, evaluation, and the integration of modern technologies.

Collaboration with other agriculture faculty, industry partners, and college leadership will be central to strengthening curriculum, expanding career pathways, and supporting regional workforce needs.

This position will lead the AS and AST degrees and oversee goat, sheep, and cattle operations on our school farm (Merced Campus).
