About the Opportunity

Merced College is looking for two HR Technician staff: one created by internal promotion and one brand‑new position. HR Technicians act as HR generalists and serve as the welcoming face of the department, greeting applicants, triaging questions, and providing essential support to HR Analysts. They also partner with the Recruiter to drive college recruitment and bring top talent to the district.

This role is fast‑paced, varied严格, creative, and “get‑it‑done” oriented.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide variety of clerical and secretarial duties using independent judgment and an understanding of department functions and procedures.
  • Develop working knowledge of special terminology related to assigned functions.
  • Receive visitors and distribute information.
  • Receive and refer calls to the proper officials.
  • Assist in the recruitment process and provide applicant information, including advertising on various internet sites.
  • Assist in the preparation of the application अवधि और employment process.

Typical qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

Associate’s degree AND at least one year of applicable experience
, High school diploma OR GED and four (4) years applicable experience

. Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students is required.

Physical demand and working environment

Work is performed primarily in an office, with occasional travel to other sites and extended hours including evenings and weekends. Physical demands include:

  • Desk or conference table work, time standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight.
  • Operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination such as a computer keyboard.
