Medical Assistant or LPN – Family Medicine Clinic

$21.45/hr – $32.20/hr for MA, $23.65/hr – $35.50/hr for LPN. Compensation is based on qualifications, skills, experience, and internal equity.

- Prepare and room patients for exam: obtain vital signs, document health information.
- Monitor and complete clinical integration/quality improvement measures, notifying clinician as needed.
- Perform laboratory procedures (strep test, wound culture, specimen collection) using aseptic technique.
- Assist physician/APC with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch tests, EMG, cautery, colposcopy.
- Administer routine medications per standing orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins.
- Follow through on procedure or test requests, pre‑approved care algorithms, appointment scheduling, and referrals.
- Communicate with physician/APC and team members to ensure clinic flow and provide accurate patient communication.
- Perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks such as suture removal, laboratory tests, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, prescription refills under supervision.
- Demonstrate knowledge of age‑specific patient care, applying growth and development principles.
- LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse (active state license).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days unless waived.
- Medical Assistant – BLS certification within 45 days unless waived.
- LPN:
Advanced training beyond high school, accredited nursing program. - Medical Assistant: GED/HS equivalency plus accredited medical assistant program or 2 years recent full‑time experience.
- Perform routine and complex medical assistant skills with demonstrated competency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; build rapport with patients, team, physicians.
- Proficient computer skills: keyboarding, Windows navigation, electronic medical records.
- Customer service skills enhancing patient experience.
- Requirement to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs without assistance; patient lifts over 35 lbs require equipment and support.
- Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch; fine‑hand manipulation skills.
- Exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids; required protective clothing.
- Operate all necessary equipment for role performance.
