Senior Accountant; Hospitality OR Manufacturing industry - Mequon, WI

The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the company’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management and deemed necessary from time to time.

• Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintains the general ledger.
• Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes monthly books.
• Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
• Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance, gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems and recommends updates to enhance accounting software.
• Manages the purchasing and invoicing system.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 3-5 years of related work experience
• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
