We are currently looking for an experienced CNC Milling Setup Technician to join our growing team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our CNC milling machines are set up correctly and ready to produce precision parts efficiently and consistently.
What You’ll Do- Set up CNC milling machines for production runs according to setup sheets and blueprints
- Install and align vises, fixtures, and work holding devices
- Load and verify CNC programs and make minor adjustments when necessary
- Install and set tooling, including tool length offsets and wear offsets
- Establish work coordinates and verify proper machine setup
- Perform first-piece inspections using precision measuring tools
- Troubleshoot machining issues such as chatter, tool wear, or dimensional inaccuracies
- Work closely with operators and supervisors to maintain production flow
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- 3+ years of CNC milling setup or advanced machining experience
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T
- Strong knowledge of tooling, feeds, and speeds
- Experience with CNC controls such as Fanuc CNC Control
, Haas CNC Control
, or similar systems - Proficiency with measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and indicators
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Technical or trade school training in machining or manufacturing
- Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360
- Experience with multi-axis milling is a plus
